75 years ago: “As a sideline to the 1938 Spanish Trails Fiesta, numerous stores and establishments in Durango are inaugurating a new style of facial adornment for the male employee and firm heads. These men will begin on growing a crop of whiskers when they pledge not to remove from their faces until Fiesta is over. The first one to shave buys the treats for the others in his particular ‘gang.’”
50 years ago: “The D&RGW’s new covered gondola, the second delivered in two weeks, was filled with eager passengers. The passenger load stayed well over the 500 mark all through the weekend.”
25 years ago: An advertisement for Trimble Hot Springs, 6475 County Road 203, read: “It’s fun! Come on out!”
