75 years ago: A 12-year-old Durango boy received a $5 reward after he returned a wallet and $55 to the rightful owner.
50 years ago: Durango City Council passed on final reading of two ordinances during a 15-minute meeting. One provided rules and regulations for a new state highway construction south of Sixth Street. The second amended the sales and use tax on building materials to require builders to pay city sales tax on materials used, even if purchased outside the city limits.
25 years ago: Durango Police Department launched a search for a 1½-month-old girl who needed medical attention for an infection. The mother reported her child missing two days before, and officers believed the baby was with her father.
