50 years ago: “The city manger reports the West Side Road along the Animas River was closed and will remain closed during the construction period while the road is being relocated along the base of the hill. The road, first phase of the West Side Park project, is scheduled for completion within 90 days.”

25 years ago: “With all lifts open and nearly 60 percent of its groomed runs covered by 40 inches of snow, Wolf Creek Ski Area began its 1990-’91 ski season.”
