75 years ago: “In recent months some 14 dogs have been poisoned in Durango. ... Whoever he or she may be, the poisoner of dogs in Durango would be roughly treated if ever brought to justice.”
50 years ago: “Biggest sighs of relief – or exhaustion – at the conclusion of the 1963 Spanish Trails Fiesta came from the Durango Police Department and the La Plata County Sheriff’s office. They handled what probably was a record number of calls and reports, but had practically no serious incidents on their reports.”
