100 years ago: “William Musser, an old-time hunter and trapper of the Lightner Creek section, delivered a bear to the Graden meat market. He killed the animal in the vicinity where he resides the day previous. The sight of a new bear’s scalp dangling from his belt is so common that he must have about all members of the bruin family in that neck of the wood terrorized.”
75 years ago: “Doris Tooley, Veda Walker, Sadie Eaton and Dolly Zufelt, all of Redmesa, had tests of their blood taken that they might qualify as cooks for the WPA hot lunch project for the school children of District No. 18.”
