50 years ago: “Directors of School District 9-R increased the capital reserve mill levy from one mill to the statutory limit of two mils to establish a fund for acquisition of a future school site, and pared $115,000 from the 1966 calendar year budget of $2,213,360 when they meet. Directors accepted the revised budget of $2,098,360.”

25 years ago: “An estimated 250 families and an equal number of alumni were in Durango to witness the Fort Lewis College 35-28 homecoming victory over Colorado School of Mines.”
