“Angel” investors to meet at DMR

Investors and economic development officials will meet tonight at Durango Mountain Resort to hear pitches from two fledgling companies.

The meeting will feature John Chavez of New Mexico Angels, a private membership group of investors who fund start-up companies; Roger Zalneraitis, executive director of the La Plata Economic Development Alliance; Ray Hagerman, CEO of Four Corners Economic Development in Farmington, and Matt Taylor, CEO of Mercury Payment Systems.

The investors will hear pitches from two companies, Sit-Ins and EcoPesticides International Inc.

Durango-based Sit-Ins is developing a music education app. The company recently graduated from the Southwest Colorado Accelerator Program for Entrepreneurs, or SCAPE.

EcoPesticides International is an Albuquerque-based company whose product treats pests with naturally occurring fungi.
