Animas High newspaper gets dino scoop

A dinosaur head placed atop the Arc of History was stolen, returned and auctioned for a good cause. Those responsible for the theft wrote about it in December’s edition of the Animas Quill, Animas High School’s student newspaper.

For months, The Durango Herald has been the go-to newspaper for dinosaur head-related news, doggedly reporting every new development in an art crime saga that riveted residents and national news outlets.

But the Herald just got scooped. In December’s edition of the Animas Quill – Animas High School’s student newspaper – the teenage thieves who stole the dinosaur head from atop the Arc of History in November capitalize on their ignominy, giving a tell-all account of their crime under the byline “Secret Dino Agent.”

The result is a journalistic coup for the student newspaper and great reading.
