Ninth-grade humanities students will present their Socialization and Mask Exhibition from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Animas High School, 20091 U.S. Highway 160. They will share handcrafted masks, introspective essays and talk about how socialization shapes our lives.Eleventh-grade humanities students will present their Deconstructing America: Rhetoric and Ideology Exhibition from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the school. Students will tackle a variety of controversial issues in an effort to find common ground through the use of civil discourse.Studio art students will hold an exhibition of their work from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.All AHS students will complete presentations of learning Dec. 12-16. Presentations are individually scheduled.The final day of regularly scheduled classes is Thursday. On Friday, students will participate in the Winter Advisory Olympics and be released at 12:30 p.m. The Hub Bus to Durango High School will not run at the end of the day Friday.There is limited availability for ninth-, 10th- and 11th-grade students planning to enroll in the second semester of the 2016-17 school year.
