From 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 16, Animas Valley Grange will host a tour of two organic farms that strive to produce nutrient-dense food with methods that help address climate change by sequestering atmospheric carbon in the soil.
At the first stop, Dean and Susan Vidal of Brightwood Farm will discuss small-scale, diversified regenerative practices and season extension. The second stop will be at James Ranch, where Jenn and Joe Wheeling will share their practices and plans at a larger scale.
Meet at 10 am Oct. 16 at Brightwood Farm, 33054 U.S. Highway 550, just north of The Ranch subdivision, about 10 miles north of Durango.
