The Animas Valley Grange will host a presentation, “Soil Health: What Is It, Why You Should Care and How to Improve It?” at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at the grange, 7271 County Road 203.
This talk is intended for homeowners, gardeners, ranchers and farmers and will be presented by a panel from James Ranch, Adobe House Farms and Brightwood Farm.
The speakers will provide practical insights into soil that sustains plants without the need for pesticides and why it matters to people’s health. They will also give suggestions for assessing soils and improving them sustainably over time, whether at the scale of flowerbed or field.
The talk, the first in the 2020 series at the grange, is free and open to the public. Social time with refreshments begins at 6:30 p.m.
