Animas Valley Grange will present a virtual talk about native pollinators, honey bees, flowers and neonics at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday via Zoom.
Tina Sebestyen with Colorado Beekeepers Association will give a presentation about native pollinators and their relationships with native plants. Certain plants are designed to be especially attractive to the pollinator that can best serve the plant, with specific shapes and colorings, the timing of pollen and nectar production, scents and ultraviolet landing patterns.
Sebestyen will share how abundant and varied forage can boost the health and longevity of bees and pollinators, and how pesticides reduce their health, longevity and ability to reproduce.
