Animas Valley Oral History Project to be presented at the Animas Valley Grange

The Animas Valley Oral History Project will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Animas Valley Grange Hall, 7271 County Road 203.

The project will be presented by Stephen Sellers from Animas High School and Ruth Lambert, cultural director of San Juan Mountain Association. Lambert will begin with an introduction to oral histories and her earlier work on oral histories related to rural schools in the region.

Sellers will share some of the oral histories of residents with deep roots in the Animas Valley that students in his freshman Humanities class recorded earlier this year. He will also discuss the educational value of the Animas Valley Oral History Project.

The talk is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
