The offensive roll continued for the Durango High School softball team Tuesday in Cortez.
The Demons scored double-digit runs for the second consecutive game, defeating Montezuma-Cortez 16-1.
Catcher Augusta Brockus collected three hits and four runs batted in, while Katelyn DeLuche, Danica Dudley and Deryn Candelaria all had two hits.
DeLuche had a team-high five RBIs.
Pitcher Lexy Vidunas threw four innings, only allowing one run and two hits while striking out nine and not walking anyone.
The game ended after the fourth inning because of the 10-run rule when Durango exploded for nine runs and Cortez couldn’t respond.
“We’ve had two good offensive games in a row,” DHS head coach Mike Cioppa said. “The girls are starting to get some confidence.”
Durango won two consecutive games after losing four in a row to start the season.
The Demons next will play Fruita Monument on Sept. 13 at home.
