I really don’t have an opinion on the Arc of History art at the entrance to Durango. It reminds me of a scree slope on nearby mountains, but what I have noticed is that the landscaping is fighting with the piece of art for attention.
There are grasses, bushes and trees all packed together in a small space with the rock art in the middle. There is no focal point; it is too busy. I think removing the landscaping so you can see the art would help enhance it.
Frankly, rocks on scree slopes are broken, so why not the rocks in the display?
