Are conditions too dry to run the train?

As a local, I can appreciate the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge train all day long, but today I do question the safety for our northern lands and forests throughout the summer. Today, April 17, extremely high winds as well as even more fierce gusts, combined with the extreme dryness and lacking moisture, make me question how safe is it to run the train.

Can Al Harper guarantee that there won’t be a fire accidentally ignited by random sparks or hot ash? Please know that I am not attacking Mr. Harper and him awesome train, as I know him personally and have great respect for him. I am just questioning the protection we need this year for our forests, residential areas, and wildlife, vs. the train and the hot ash it spews out its chimney.
