FARMINGTON – An Arizona man pleaded guilty earlier this week in federal court to aggravated sexual abuse of a minor.
In a plea agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Jeremiah Elijah Jim, 31, of Teec Nos Pos, Arizona, and an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, admitted to threatening a child younger than 16 with serious bodily injury on or about June 3, 2019. He then sexually abused the boy, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice.
The abuse took place in Shiprock, New Mexico, on the Navajo Nation, according to the release.
Jim’s co-defendant, Bryan Bull, is awaiting trial scheduled for May 10.
Bull and Jim were charged with four counts of aggravated sexual abuse and two counts of abusive sexual contact, according to the release.
Jim is in custody pending sentencing, which has not yet been scheduled. According to the release, Jim faces 14 to 24 years in prison.
