The Brett Kavanaugh nomination, in the context of the #metoo movement, has laid bare the entitlement, arrogance and authoritarian state of being that the is the spirit of the Republican Party.
Women’s views, women’s pain, and the struggles of anyone other than the patrician white male, simply do not count when a senior white male’s reputation or future is at stake.
“She is confused.” Or, “I think she believes what she is saying, but I do not think that it is true ...” Or, “boys will be boys.”
And the lifetime of trauma and struggle these boys leave in their wake simply does not matter to these white patriarchs.
It is time they are put out to pasture.
The arrogant white male has no place in making the laws of this wonderful country.
They are not what made America great; these selfish white men protecting each other are what is undermining the USA and threatening democracy.
The white Republicans want power far more than truth, more than the quality of future for our kids, and they do not know the damage it does to the wholeness of our discourse when they lie and support a serial liar.
Every day they either demonstrate that they do not have the personal development to see the corruption and evil, in which case they should not be in government, or they are too immature or too stupid.
Or they see it but do not have the moral development to stand up for truth, in which case they too should be out for they are too craven.
Vote them out!
