Local photographer’s work included in new issue of Orion
Local photographer Paul Pennington’s work is included in the September/October issue of Orion Magazine.
A photo of Pennington’s will be featured in the magazine’s celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act.
The photo, which was taken on Red Mountain Pass, captures a golden aspen leave in a stream.
Pennington teaches photography at San Juan College in Farmington, New Mexico.
‘Relationships’ returns Friday for encore performance
“Relationships in Durango: Can We All Get Along?” will return for an encore performance on Friday.
The show will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 901 East Second Ave. Tickets are $15.
The play, written by Durango attorney Jeffrey Deitch, is a collection of vignettes about relationships. It was performed in early September at the Henry Strater Theatre. Call 261-1306 for more information.
Durango author to host book signing at Maria’s Bookshop
Durango author Carolyn Hobbs will be signing copies of her book, “Free Yourself: 10 Life-Changing Powers of Your Wise Heart” at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 7 at Maria’s Bookshop, 960 Main Ave.
Hobbs is a therapist, writer, workshop leader and teacher who has a body-centered therapy practice in Durango. Her book offers wisdom drawn from 35 years of working with clients.
