Peter Berriman art reception is Thursday

An opening reception for Bayfield artist Peter Ladd Berriman’s new exhibit will take place from 3:30-5 p.m. Thursday at Pine River Valley Bank, 1701 Main Ave.

The show opened on Monday at the bank. It features the eclectic two- and three-dimensional art of Berriman, who is the host of “Bayfield’s Bring It to the Table.”

Stitch hosting after-fair quilt display this week

Stitch, a Durango quilt and sewing boutique, is hosting an after-fair quilt display this week that will culminate with an artist reception and presentation on Saturday.

The display includes the La Plata County Fair’s champion quilts from each category. The reception will take place from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at Stitch, 153 E. 15th St. Visit www.stitchonline.net for more information.

Pine River Valley Bank seeking photographers

Pine River Valley Bank of Durango has announced a call for entries for its upcoming, juried photography competition, “Durango City Limits.”

The exhibition is open to all professional and amateur photographers 18 and older who are residents of the following counties: La Plata, Archuleta, Montezuma, San Juan and Dolores in Colorado; Apache in Arizona; San Juan in Utah and San Juan in New Mexico.

Photos must have been taken within Durango city limits and not been previously exhibited. Images should reflect the lifestyle, people or landscapes of Durango.

Margy Dudley of Open Shutter Gallery will judge the show, and winners will receive cash prizes. The exhibition will run from Dec. 1 through Jan. 2, with an opening reception on Dec. 4.
