The art sale to benefit Mountain Middle School, in which donated pieces are bought without buyers knowing the name of the creator, got off to a fast start.
Nine of the 60 donated items, each priced at $100, sold in the first five minutes, and 25 percent of them in the first day. The sale continues until Feb. 28, when an unveiling party starting at 6 p.m. at the Lost Dog Bar and Lounge introduces the artists and artisans to the public.
Tickets to the gathering, which is open to the public, are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Among the pieces for sale are paintings, photographs, sculptures and pottery.
The unveiling will include a silent auction and a live auction. Proceeds are earmarked for teacher bonuses.
