Articles went too far with death details

Being from Durango, from a family that has been here for five generations, I am ashamed to call myself local.

I work with two wonderful women who mentored Crystal Martinez and her children for years.

Crystal would come into the office in Bodo always happy and very loving to all she met. She was a great mother!

Reviewing the articles of her horrific death (Herald, April 18 and 19), has made me so mad at your paper!

There was no mention of this wonderful woman and her children. The incident needed to be reported, but you went too far!

And to top it off there was no mention of her children and what they might need?

Are we so hardened that we are only concerned with the sensational nature that was reported?

Shame on you! This woman might have not had much, but she was deeply loved and will be missed by many.

Editor’s note: As reported in the articles, a GoFundMe site has been set up for her three children; go to www.gofundme.com and search for Crystal Hogue Martinez Babies Fund.
