The Artisans of Mancos, artist’s cooperative gallery at Main and Grand in Mancos, will welcome two new artists from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday as Mancos celebrates its first 2019 Grand Summer Nights with a gallery stroll, art demonstrations, carriage rides, Raven House’s 10th anniversary and an Artisans reception.
Alex Bond, blacksmith and wood-turner, creates nature-inspired art using a variety of materials and processes. In addition to creating art, Bond works in the field of wilderness therapy to support teens and young adults in healing through nature and human connection.
Aileen McAlister, oil and acrylic painter, is welcomed back to Artisans with her vibrant Western landscapes, including cowboys and wildlife. She comes to Cortez with a long history of self-taught painting and exhibiting since age 13.
The community is invited to attend the Artisans reception and enjoy food, art and conversation.
