Artist showing work at Pine River Library

Pine River Library is pleased to announce a new art showing of the work of Durango artist Barbara Tobin Klema. Klema has spent the last 40 years working as a professional artist, including owning two art galleries and teaching art classes at Fort Lewis College and Crimson Paintbrush Art Studio, her business in the Smiley Building.

She has also worked as a botanical illustrator and taught classes for the Durango Botanical Society. Klema has had paintings shown in the prestigious Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Exhibit and won numerous awards over the years, including the Durango Arts Center 2013 Best of Show. She is a member of the Plein Air Painters of the Four Corners and a member of the Friends of the Durango Art Library Board at the Durango Art Center. She continues to translate her experience of life on paper with watercolor.

Klema's watermedia works will be on display at the library until early July, with an artist reception with refreshments scheduled from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9.
