Merely Players launches fundraiser
Merely Players has launched a Feed the Birds campaign to help keep quality theater in Durango.
Money raised will help with set construction, costumes, props, makeup, publicity, lights and sound and other production and administrative expenses for their upcoming youth/adult production of the musical “Mary Poppins.”
The troupe is selling 150 simulated birds that will become a part of an art display to be featured on performance nights throughout the run of “Mary Poppins.”
The prices of the birds range in dollar increments from $1 to $150, and donors may personalize them with a name or short message. Each donor or “Bird Feeder” also will receive a ticket to “Mary Poppins” and a mention in the program.

San Juan Symphony to perform April 26
The San Juan Symphony concludes its 2014-15 season and Arthur Post’s 13th and final season as music director with a concert called “Music of the Timeless Spirit” at 3 p.m. April 26 at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College.
The concert features composer and vocal soloist Paul Fowler of Boulder. “Music of the Timeless Spirit” weaves diverse musical and spiritual traditions to explore music’s timeless pathway to the soul.
