Purgatory Resort has provided the schedule for its 30th annual Music in the Mountains festival, a summer classical music event at Purgatory Resort. The performances will run from July 8-31, and audiences can take advantage of pre-concert lectures and rehearsals that are open to the public.
The orchestra performance schedule will be:
July 15, 7 p.m.: “Celebration!” Free pre-concert lecture at 6 p.m. in the Durango Mountain Club.
July 17, 5:30 p.m.: “Time Travel.” Free pre-concert lecture at 4:30 p.m. in the Durango Mountain Club.
July 22, 5:30 p.m.: “Pops Night: Simply Swingin’ With Sinatra.” Benefit dinner and concert.
July 23, 5:30 p.m. “Mountain Majesty.” Free pre-concert lecture at 4:30 p.m. in the Durango Mountain Club.
July 29, 6 p.m.: “Epic Grandeur.” Beer and brats at 6 p.m., concert at 7 p.m. Free pre-concert lecture in the Durango Mountain Club before the event.
July 31, 5:30 p.m.: “Viva L’Italia!” Free pre-concert lecture at 4:30 p.m. in the Durango Mountain Club. 30th anniversary celebration in Purgy’s after the concert.

San Ignacio Fiesta will be held July 30-31 in Ignacio. Fiesta Dance will be held at Sky Ute Event Center, featuring New Mexico’s Quarenta y Cinco band. Dance tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.
