Durango Arts Center ‘Turning the Page’
Tucson, Arizona, artist Catherine Nash will exhibit “Turning the Page: A retrospective of Artist Books” from March 6 through April 5 in the Art Library at Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave.
There will be an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. March 6. There also will be a secondary reception March 27 in conjunction with the Barbara Conrad Gallery. Inspired by nature, and created of handmade paper and natural elements, Nash’s artist books span two decades of creative work.
As part of Nash’s exhibit, she also will teach a workshop titled “Exploring the Surface: Mixed Media Drawing on Paper,” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 7 and 8. Participants will experiment with combining a variety of both wet and dry medias, both black-and-white and color, as well as waxes and gilding on a variety of papers. Using adapted contemporary Japanese woodblock techniques, participants will learn how to use external sizing to manipulate the absorbency of watercolor or inks. The cost is $195 for Arts Center members and $225 for the general public.

Bolster to help holster the skeleton drawing
Local art instructor Ed Bolster will teach “Drawing the Human Skeleton” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays from March 5 to 26 at the Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave.
This course is for people with some life drawing skills who would like to further their abilities by understanding the influence of the skeleton on human anatomy. The cost is $120 for Arts Center members and $140 for the general public. There also is a $35 model fee.

Durango will host the ‘Seasons of Song’
The Durango Choral Society, the Durango Women’s Choir and the Renaissance Singers from Telluride will present a concert titled “Seasons of Song” at 7 p.m. March 6 and 2 p.m. March 7 at First United Methodist Church, 2917 Aspen Drive.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $5 for students and children. The concert will feature Durango Choral Society performing the world premiere of a new setting of “Psalm 150” by ASCAP award-winning composer Harry Lockwood.
