Concert Hall hosts season kick-off party
The Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College will host a season kick-off party Tuesday, offering a chance for patrons to purchase optimal tickets for the 2014-15 season before they go on sale to the public.
The party will take place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Durango Welcome Center, 802 Main Ave.
In addition to advance tickets, the party will feature a free hot dog lunch, live music by Ace Revel, drawings for free tickets and the opportunity to become a member of the Concert Hall (which will enter people into the Member Madness Drawing). Memberships start at $50.

Two drawing classes coming up at DAC
Durango artist Ed Bolster will teach two summer drawing classes at Durango Arts Center starting next week.
“Beginning Drawing” will run Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m. from July 8 through Aug. 5. Designed for novice artists, the class will focus on fundamental drawing techniques as well as essential building blocks of design. Students will use graphite pencils, charcoal and brush.
“Figure Drawing” will run Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. from July 10 through Aug. 5. This class is designed for students who have some drawing experience, and will focus on more advanced techniques using live models.
