Mangold Duo to perform Friday
The Mangold Duo featuring Bonnie Mangold, cello, and Marilyn Mangold Garst, piano, will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Durango, 419 San Juan Drive, as part of the fellowship’s recital series.
The cost is $15 for adults, $7 for children (12 and younger) and students with ID. The program will include the music of Vivaldi, Debussy, Barber and Brahms.

Durango Arts Center to hold workshops
The Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave., will offer these workshops:
“Paper Possibilities,” hand paper-making workshop with artist Helen Hiebert, will take place on April 18 and 19. Participants will create a sampling of objects that expand and collapse, open and close, fold and unfold. The group will explore various ways to weave papers; turn envelopes into works that convert into wall or window hangings, books or lanterns with an adaptation of the piano hinge binding; and embed wire between sheets of paper to produce lamps or sculptures. The cost is $195 for members and $225 for the general public.
“Working in Full Color – Exploring Monotypes,” with Navajo artist Melanie Yazzie, will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 25 and 26. The workshop will introduce the monoprint and monotype methods and work with akua soy-based inks. Students will learn about making non-editioned prints using a variety of two or more technical approaches. Works made in the workshop will be featured in a group exhibition at the University of Colorado Boulder in summer 2015. The cost is $225 for members and $250 for the general public.

DHS Theatre Troupe to perform April 1
Durango High School Theatre Troupe 1096 will provide a musical theater and acting performance from 6 to 8 p.m. April 1 at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
The event will feature student performances showcasing songs from their scores, musical numbers from “Les Miserables” and monologues from their winning conference.
