Seasons of Song concert to be held

The Durango Choral Society, the Durango Women’s Choir and the Renaissance Singers from Telluride will present a concert titled “Seasons of Song” at 7 p.m. March 6 and 2 p.m. March 7 at First United Methodist Church, 2917 Aspen Drive.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $5 for students and children. The concert will feature Durango Choral Society performing the world premiere of a new setting of “Psalm 150” by ASCAP award-winning composer Harry Lockwood.

Documentary focuses on spiritual centers

The documentary “The Flame,” will be shown at Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The film, made by Durangoan Sean Owen, is about the large collection of various religious groups, from Tibetan Buddhism, to Carmelites to Hinduism, based in Crestone, Colorado.

The differences between the groups are shown, as well as the similarities and how they all get along peacefully in the remote community based in the Sangre de Cristo Range.

The film also shows how the community is connected to the local environment.

This screening is free, and the film is 76 minutes long.

Fort Lewis library to hold a sale

The Center of Southwest Studies Delaney Research Library at Fort Lewis College will host a book sale Wednesday from 4 -6 p.m.
