Boys art camp celebration to be held

The Durango Arts Center will celebrate the Boys Art Camp wrap-up from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday in the center’s Education Studio, 802 East Second Ave.

The celebration will share class projects with refreshments and discussions about the inaugural camp and plans for 2016.

Register now for fall art workshops

Registration is now open for fall art workshops for beginning and advanced artists at the Durango Arts Center.

The center’s Fall Adult Art Workshop Series features classes in encaustics, drawing, printmaking, pastels and book arts. Workshops are limited to intimate class sizes.

Denver book artist to visit Durango

The Durango Arts Center will present “Hands on Artists’ Books,” an open house featuring 40 artist books of Alicia Bailey from 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 21 in the Barbara Conrad Gallery, 802 East Second Ave.

Works of art realized in the form of a book, artists’ books are interactive, flexible and richly textured, come in all shapes and sizes and are full of surprises. O Bailey will present books from her own collection and on loan from the artists she represents. All ages are welcome. This event will offer a cash bar and light appetizers.
