Durango’s Four Corners Film Office has announced a call for extras for the Scott Cooper western, “Hostiles,” starring Christian Bale, Rosamund Pike and Wes Studi. The shoot will take place Sept. 20 in Chama, New Mexico.
The film is set in 1892 and features an Army captain who reluctantly agrees to escort a Cheyenne chief and his family through dangerous territory.
Men, women and children are sought for non-speaking roles. The pay rate is $10.91/hour with overtime pay after eight hours. The workday will be 12 hours.

Durango Arts Center will host an opening reception for “Journeys: Prairies, Plateaus and Peaks” From 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, upstairs in the Art Library.
“Journeys” is a mixed-media compilation of intuitive landscapes and impressions from nature created by local artist Jane Steele.
The exhibit will be on display until Oct. 30.
