Kiwi-Scotch music coming to town
Durango Scottish Dancers will present New Zealand Scottish fiddler Catherine Fraser and pianist Duncan Smith at 7 p.m. Monday at the Rocky Mountain Retreat, 848 East Third Ave.
Their repertoire, although steeped in Scottish tradition, explores international, folk and original compositions. Fraser and Smith have received rave reviews across North America, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia.
Suggested donation is $15, $7 for students.

College theater to hold open auditions
The Fort Lewis College Theatre Department will hold auditions and interviews for “You Can’t Take it with You” by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman. Auditions will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 5 and 6 on the FLC Mainstage in the Theatre building.
Auditioners should be prepared to perform a 1-minute comic monologue. Producers are casting for a 35-plus-year-old female (role of Penny); two 35-plus-year-old males (DePinna and Paul); and a 50-plus-year-old male (Grandpa).

Registrations open for kids art classes
The Clay Room is accepting registrations for children’s art classes, which will begin Sept. 9. Classes are available for children ages 1-6 years to 12 and older.
The Clay Room is an experiential, process-based art school offering classes for toddlers, preschoolers, home-schooled students and after-school programs in a variety of media. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
