Artists invited to apply for residency program
The Durango Arts Center will offer its inaugural Artist-in-Residency Program for contemporary and performing art with two one-week residencies offered in the spring and fall.
The residency program is part of DAC’s 2014 Art Revolution and is in collaboration with Willowtail Springs Preserve/Education Center outside Mancos.
The first one-week residency, offered exclusively to DAC members, is intended to support a 2014 DAC Theatre Season special Reader’s Theatre performance honoring mothers and fathers in May and June. The residency will take place in March and/or April at WPEC and allow time, support and encouragement for the artist to engage in creative growth and pioneering thought. Anyone can become a member.
The application and sample artwork deadline for the first residency is Jan. 31. For more information and application, visit www.DurangoArts.org/artist-residency-program.
