GRAND JUNCTION – At least seven students from Colorado have been accused of making some kind of threat against schools after the school shooting in Florida.
On Thursday a 13-year-old boy was arrested in Grand Junction after allegedly making statements about carrying out a shooting at his school. School officials say the threat wasn’t found to be credible and he was charged with interfering with a school, a misdemeanor.
Meanwhile, in suburban Denver school police say a student at Westminster High School was cited Thursday after a social media threat against the school proved to be false. Lakewood police say a student at Bear Creek High School accused of making a general threat was charged with interfering with a school.
Four other students have also been arrested in Grand Junction in recent days. They have all been released to their parents except a 15-year-old who has had two previous juvenile delinquency cases.
