Atmos Energy is planning to replace pipes to further increase the safety and reliability of its natural gas delivery system as well as decrease greenhouse gas emissions throughout Colorado.
Beginning Monday, these pipe replacement efforts will take place in Durango. The project encompasses four distinct geographical areas and will be staggered to minimize impacts to traffic and neighborhood routines:
Monday-May: Columbine Drive.April 14-June: Thomas Avenue.April 22-July: West Second and Third streets.May 22-July: Chapman Hill.About 236 customers will be receive new natural gas service lines through these projects. Those customers and nearby residents can expect to see work crews and contractors replacing the natural gas mains and service lines that connect to the gas meter at their homes.
