Audience applause normal on Broadway

In a critique of Durango High School’s presentation of “Les Misérables” (Herald, Nov. 19), art critic Judith Reynolds chided Durangoans for applauding throughout the show.

Having recently attended three Broadway plays in New York City, I can attest that Broadway audiences applaud enthusiastically and spontaneously after a fine performance throughout the play.

DHS’ ‘Les Mis’ is stellar. The applause during and after the show is richly deserved.
