Pine River Library will host a two-day babysitter training course for teens aged 12 to 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 12-13 at the library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive. Applications are due by Aug. 2.
This course covers basic child care; nutrition; diapering; early reading literacy and social/emotional literacy skills; entertaining kids; and more. Marketing and professionalism are also included in this updated class.
The full training also features a full-day basic lifesaving course, including CPR/First Aid training from the American Heart Association. All teens who participate in the course become part of the library’s babysitter referral list.
Students must attend both days. Cost is $25 per student. Payment is due at registration. Scholarships are available.
