As part of the IMLS-funded, YALSA/ARSL Future Ready grant program, the library will present the second of four Future Ready Babysitter Trainings from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 17 and 18 at Pine River Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive.
The program trains teens aged 12 to 18 years old on basic child care, nutrition and an introductory understanding of early learning and social/emotional literacy skills, as well as community leadership, business marketing, entrepreneurship and professionalism. The training also features a full-day basic lifesaving course including CPR/first-aid training.
There will also be an early childhood care and education career panel and luncheon. Alumni PRL babysitters may audit the new training topics for free and recertify their CPR/first-aid cards for $20.
Attendees must be present both days. Class fees are generously sponsored by Pine River Valley Centennial Rotary for the January training. Teens must apply for the course online at www.prlibrary.org/event/babysitter-training-2/2020-03-17 or at the library information desk. Applications are due by Tuesday, March 10. Applicants will be notified by Friday, March 13.
