The members of Bacon are Chris Ross (trumpet), Jeff Nelson (guitar), Ryan Baker (tenor sax) Zach Stevenson (bass) and Larry Craig (drums). They aim to lure people to the dance floor and keep them there all night. Learn more about Bacon at Facebook.com/Baconfunk.

The Community Concert Hall and Alpine Bank "Concerts at the Park" series continues in Durango's Buckley Park on Thursday, July 23.

The popular Durango band Bacon will perform from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Known for its dynamic funk, soul and ska music, Bacon offers dance-inspiring, horn-heavy grooves. The band released its first self-titled CD last year featuring seven original tracks. At live shows the group is also known for covering classic tracks by artists such as Maceo Parker, Liquid Soul, Banda Black Rio and more.

Designed to make live music more accessible to a broader community audience, the "Concerts at the Park" shows require no tickets and offer a family-friendly environment for enjoying a diverse music line-up.

Concert attendees are asked to bring their own chairs or blankets, as seating is not provided at Buckley Park. Fired Up Pizzeria will have the popular restaurant's oven at the park with pizzas for sale, and picnics are welcome.

Buckley Park is located in the 1200 block of Main Ave. (between 12th and 13th Streets) across the street from the Durango Herald.

The 2015 "Concerts at the Park" series concludes on July 30 with folk-rock band SHEL from Fort Collins.
