The La Plata County Humane Society’s sixth annual Bark & Wine Silent Auction Fundraiser will go from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the La Plata County Fairgrounds.
It’s the society’s biggest fundraiser of the year and features food and, of course, wine and beer.
The humane society has big plans for funds raised from this year’s event, with canines and felines sharing in the bounty. Part of the proceeds will go to Phase 2 of the dog play yard, with future plans to open it to the public. Proceeds also will provide collars and tags for every cat that leaves the facility.
Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at Pet Haus, Maria’s Bookshop, Pine River Valley Bank, the humane society or online at www.lpchumanesociety.org. It’s also fine to purchase tickets at the event.
