On behalf of the Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering, I would like to thank everyone who attended our ninth annual Outdoor Concert and Barn Dance on June 11 at the gorgeous River Bend Ranch.
Special thanks to the phenomenal Tim Sullivan Band who kept people boot scootin’ until the very end. Many thanks to the Cowboy Poetry Gathering board and their spouses for all their help in setting up for the evening, and especially a big thank you to Kathy Sherer for organizing our Silent Auction, a truly monumental task. Thank you Cuevas Tacos for providing those delicious tacos and coming through for us at the last minute when we lost our other vendor and they had double the work to do. And of course, we always appreciate Cream Bean Berry for donating its tasty Artisan Ice Cream, which everyone loves.
A very special thanks to the Durango High School FFA for sending us five enthusiastic members who helped with a variety of tasks with big smiles on their faces and a positive attitude.
And of course, the event would not have taken place without the assistance of Dan Diehl and his staff at River Bend Ranch.
Finally, thank you to the community for your support as we strive to preserve Durango’s Western heritage.
Pam Jacobs, Barn Dance Coordinator
