The Kiwanis Club of Durango will host Bayfield resident and author Curt Brown at noon Thursday at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
Brown will discuss his latest book about the fire, flu and war that converged on Minnesota in 1918 and draw comparisons to the Durango 416 Fire 100 years later.
Guests are welcome. Optional lunch is provided for $13.
