One team left Jerry A. Conner Fieldhouse Tuesday night victorious for the first time in the 2023-24 basketball season. And despite playing their closest game this winter to date, it wasn’t the Bayfield Wolverines’s night.
Bayfield’s Cooper Rodrick and Kingston Martinez scored a combined 30 points, shooting a combined 6 of 14 from the 3-point arc, the Wolverines ultimately fell short in a 61-51 loss at Piedra Vista.
PV improved to 1-5 overall, while Bayfield fell to 0-5.
Bayfield’s Vincent McCullough contributed seven points and 10 rebounds, while Lincoln Williams had six points, six assists, five rebounds and seven steals.
Piedra Vista’s statistics were unreported as of press time.
Bayfield will open a three-game home stand next week, starting with Monte Vista.
