Wolverines facing La Jara in state 2A semi-finals

Diehard Bayfield fans travelled 441 miles to Sterling to witness another Wolverine shutout Saturday, this time against the Sterling Tigers, 41-0.

Bayfield's football defense keeps shutting out their opponents, defeating Sterling 41-0 Saturday in the Colorado 2A playoffs.
The game went into the mercy rule at the start of the fourth quarter after Bayfield was ahead by more than 40 points. Last weekend, Bayfield defeated Florence 41-0 to start its state playoff games.
Up next, the Wolverines will hit the road again to play on Nov. 19 in La Junta, the top-ranked team in the 2A class. The winner of the Bayfield-La Junta game moves into the state finals on Saturday, Nov. 26. Coming up the other side of the bracket, sixth-ranked Kent Denver plays tenth-ranked Delta on Saturday in Denver in the other 2A semi-final game.
