Alamosa played excellent defense on the Bayfield High School girls basketball team’s best player Friday night. That led to a lopsided win for the host Mean Moose.
Emily Lavier scored 14 points to lead Alamosa (4-4, 1-2 3A Intermountain League) to a 34-11 win in Alamosa.
Bayfield (0-5, 0-2 IML) was led by Madison Wells, who scored five points. Abby Tate scored three, and Cayanne Carlson was held to only one point.
Paige Lavier added eight points for the Mean Moose.
Bayfield will host Montezuma-Cortez at 11 a.m. Saturday looking for its first win.
