The 20th anniversary Bayfield Heritage Days and Sheep Trailing on Sept. 27-28 was a great success. The Friday night dinner with the Bar-D Wranglers was a sell-out fundraiser for the Pine River Heritage Society Museum.
Thanks to Tyller Gummersall, who filled in on guitar and vocals while Gary Cook played standup bass. It was a great surprise to have fiddle player Matt Palmer back.
Heritage Society members presented a plaque to Jim Frahm for his energy that led to creation of the museum and his many years helping to preserve local history.
Thanks to all who helped with the set up and take down, provided homemade cookies or helped serve the dinner, and to the County Fair Royalty girls.
Thanks to J. Paul Brown and his herders for getting the sheep through town; and to planning committee member Veronica Lasater for being our digital guru and creating the design for our new T-shirts.
Thanks to Bayfield Lions Club for managing the parade and train rides, and to Ted Hockenbury and Jay Rhodes, who shared parade announcing duties. Thanks to Carol Blatnick, who organized the quilt display, and to those who loaned quilts. Thanks to Charley Minkler, who provided hay rides, to Jenni Berkman and her disk dogs and Claire Hufnagel with her trick-performing goat.
Thanks to Southwest Ag and the Hillyers for providing the tent; Lewis True Value for providing the bouncy house; and the town of Bayfield and Parks and Rec Director Becky Eisenbraun for their help and support.
