The April 5 Bayfield Town Board election has been cancelled because there are no more candidates than open seats.
The board of trustees adopted a resolution canceling the election at a special meeting on March 17.
The board also declared candidates elected are new Mayor Matthew Salka, re-election of current board members Rachel Davenport and Matthew Nyberg, and the addition of Kristin Dallison. They will take office on April 5.
The election of Mayor Salka creates one vacant seat on the board of trustees. Those interested in applying for the open seat should provide a letter of interest and resume to Town Clerk Kathy Cathcart by Friday, April 22. To be considered for appointment, individuals need to be eighteen years of age, a registered voter, and have resided within the town limits for at least 12 consecutive months.
