Bayfield remains hot at home

The season’s first Intermountain League game and first home game turned out just fine for the Bayfield High School girls basketball team.

The Wolverines used a strong fourth quarter to pull away for a 47-31 win over Monte Vista on Friday at BHS.

Jaida Ross led the way for BHS with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Haley Clarke added 10 and Andrea Zelinsky nine as Bayfield won its third consecutive game to move to 5-5 overall (1-0 IML).

“I was very pleased with how the team played (Friday). They definitely did their job in the second half,” Wolverines head coach Bri Simbeck said.

“We’re continuing to get scoring from more people, and it’s nice to get a win at home,” Simbeck said.

BHS will host Piedra Vista at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
