Bayfield-Ignacio Young American Football League teams had a good day on Sept. 19, winning three out of their four games at home at Wolverine Country Stadium.
The sixth grade team soundly defeated Kirtland 26-6.
Fifth grade won 21-7 against Kirtland, with touchdowns scored by Deegan Barnes and Silas Wilbourn. Lance Mazur quarterbacked the game. Caden Wood had another oustanding game on defense, tackling a Mustang in the Kirtland endzone to score a safety. Mitchell Story, Teagan Taylor and Nicholas Twedt ran the ball well on the offensive side.
The fourth grade team lost to Pagosa Springs, 21-0.
Third grade also beat Kirtland, 26-6.
The teams play on the road this weekend and Oct. 3, followed by playoff action starting Oct. 10.
